Bruin band: Marching to its own beat

The St. Joseph Catholic School band program offers instruction on traditional band instruments at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Beginner and intermediate bands include seventh and eighth grade students. Advanced music is offered to Grades 9-12. This program features students at school functions such as masses and prayer services, pep rallies, athletic events and seasonal musical productions.

The band program is led by Mr. Ronnie Russell, who joined the Saint Joseph family in 2004 and also serves as chairman of the Fine Arts Department. In more than 10 years with the school, Mr. Russell has grown the band program to one of the largest and most popular extra-curricular classes.
