Spirit Steppers

The purpose of the St. Joseph Spirit Steppers dance team is to perform for and aid in any spirit activities for St. Joseph Catholic School and its athletic programs.  Congratulations to our 2022-2023 Officers:  Captains: Gia Picarella & Ava Kathryn Stephen, Lieutenants:  Emerson Erwin & Maddie-Claire Spence
In June, the St. Joseph Spirit Steppers attended UDA Camp at Mississippi State University.  The Spirit Steppers received numerous awards including:
1st Place Superior Rating for Home Routine and Superior rating for team evaluations.  They are most proud of being awarded, for the second consecutive time, the 110% Award by the UDA Staff.  The UDA staff presents this award on the final day of camp to the team which they feel went above and beyond in their effort and dedication while at camp. They also received the Team Drill Down Trophy for earning the most drill down ribbons. Spirit Steppers received the Super Spirit Stick from Neshoba Central High School.
Mary Margaret Martin, Gia Picarella, Ava Kathryn Stephen and Maddie-Claire Spence were selected as UDA All Americans.  They are invited to perform at special events across the country and world!
Gia Picarella was selected and recognized as a MAIS All-Star Dance during the MAIS All-Star game on December 2nd.

Emerson Erwin, Gia Picarella and Maddie-Claire Spence will March in Varsity's London New Year's Day Parade December 26th-January 6th.
The Spirit Steppers will travel to New Orleans, with St. Joe Band, for Thoth Parade on February 19th.

Capitalizing on opportunities for our dancers to share their talents while creating irreplaceable memories is a goal of our program.
