Bio

Susie Odom is originally from Metairie, Louisiana and has lived in the greater Jackson area for 16 years. She moved here with her husband Ben, two daughters, Emilie Ursin (St. Joe Class of 2016), Catherine Smith (St Joe Class of 2016), and son Connor. She has been an English teacher for over 25 years. While still in Louisiana, Susie taught middle school English as well as American Literature, British Literature, and AP Literature at Archbishop Rummel High School. She has been a teacher at St. Joe for 8 years and during her tenure has taught English in grades 9-12 as well as AP Language. She attended LSU and graduated from the University of New Orleans with a BA in English.

Susie and her family are active members of St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson where she is a lector and Connor is an altar server, lector, and active participant in youth group. In her free time, Susie enjoys cooking and traveling with her husband Ben, playing with her 3 grandchildren, Stella, Hudson, and Mallorie, and reading.
