HOBY YOUTH LEADERSHIP SEMINAR
Since 1958, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) has provided transformative leadership development training to positively impact the lives of high school students in the U.S. and abroad annually.
HOBY’s flagship program, the State Leadership Seminar, empowers high school sophomores to develop their leadership talents to become leaders of their community. The seminar curriculum is based on the Social Change Model of Leadership and develops leadership from three perspectives: Personal Leadership, Group Leadership and Leadership for Society.
Any sophomore interested in being selected to attend the HOBY Leadership Seminar to be held May 31 thru June 2, 2019 at Millsaps College is required to submit an essay on the topic listed below.
Essay topic: In 75 to 100 words, describe the most rewarding and challenging aspect of being a leader in your school and community.
In addition to the essay the students will need to submit a resume of their activities both at school and in the community. All information must be submitted by Friday, November 30 to Mrs. Carrington at firstname.lastname@example.org
