Catholic Schools Week Food Drive

Catholic Schools Week Service Project

Each homeroom is asked to prepare at least one boxto be delivered to the St. Vincent dePaul Society at St. Richard Church who will distribute to people in need. Each box is sufficient for ONE adult to eat for a week. In lieu of bringing a box for each classroom, please have students bring grocery bags for the items.

Each boxshould contain 1 of the following unless otherwise noted:

  • 1 old fashioned Quaker Oats cereal

  • 1 16 oz creamy peanut butter

  • 1 box saltine crackers

  • 1 1#bag long grain rice

  • 15ozcantuna

  • 1 5 oz can chicken

  • 1 24 oz can spaghetti sauce (no glass jars please)

  • 1 pound spaghetti

  • 2 15.5 oz cans of beans (variety is good)

  • 1 18.5 oz can hearty soup

  • 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes

  • 2 boxes of macaroni and cheese

  • 4 cans of vegetables (variety is good)

  • 1 can fruit

A few things to keep in mind when making selections:

All items must be pantry items. Fresh items cannot be

stored properly nor distributed timely so as to avoid

spoilage.

  • Store brands are fine.

  • It is best NOT to buy items that require additional

ingredients to prepare.
