St. Joseph singers named to Mississippi All-State Honor Choir

MADISON (Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022) – Four St. Joseph Catholic School singers have been named to the 2023 Mississippi All-State Honor Choir.

Amari Alexander and Madelyn Johnston were selected for the Soprano Alto Tenor Bass Choir, or the SATB Choir, composed of young men and women from across the state. Cassie Anderson and Brennyn Bolden were chosen to the Treble Choir, an all-girls ensemble.

Students from Mississippi submitted online auditions and were selected based on tonality, tempo and dynamics. The St. Joe students will participate in the Mississippi All-State Honor Choir festivities next spring at the University of Southern Mississippi.

St. Joseph Catholic School, founded in 1870 by the Sisters of Mercy, offers seventh- through 12th-grade students of all faith backgrounds a rigorous college prep curriculum grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church.

St. Joe, 308 New Mannsdale Road in Madison just west of the Interstate 55-Mississippi 463 interchange, is accredited by the Mid-South Association of Independent Schools and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools – the accrediting arm of Cognia.
