Bio

    Coach Michael Howell earned a bachelor of secondary education from Mississippi State University with an emphasis in history and minor in kinesiology.

    Howell has taught history, physical education, and health. Howell has taught students from sixth- to 12th-grades. He has also coached basketball, football and track.

    Howell is currently in his seventh season as the varsity head boys basketball coach at St. Joe. He has helped guide the Bruins to five district titles and has been named district coach of the year five times in his career. He has also served as the school’s athletic director for the past five years.
    Howell and his wife, Alison, have been married for 13 years and have three children: Olivia, Harper and MJ. Oliva and Harper attend St. Anthony Catholic School. They are members of St. Paul Catholic Church in Flowood.
