Wizard and Witch for the Snitch Art Installation
Wizard and Witch for the SnitchUploaded Mar 05, 2015 to Fine Arts and Fine Arts
The Wizard and Witch for the Snitch art installation was a site-specific piece created by Art II students at St. Joseph Catholic School. The work depicted a game of Quidditch, a popular game in the Harry Potter book series.
This group project provided an opportunity for students to explore working with three-dimensional media and techniques in a collaborative, goal-oriented environment. Students learned about installation artwork and the ability to alter a viewer's perception of a space.
The young artists labored for two weeks to prepare and install the show. The installation was a multi-media work containing multiple elements that were displayed suspended through the air. The piece was site-specific: it was intentionally located in the library to be in the environment of the book series which inspired the work.
The Wizard and Witch for the Snitch art installation was on display in the St. Joseph Catholic School library October 2014 through January 2015. Please view the video* of the installation artwork to see the work and experience how the students transformed the space.
