Why Choose St. Joe?
Big Impact. Deep Relationships. Proven Results.
For over 155 years, St. Joe has been the cornerstone of Catholic education in the Jackson Metro Area. At St. Joe, we offer a personalized experience with robust programming that helps and supports all of our students, and is formatted in the Catholic tradition.
Known by Name, Valued for Who You Are
At St. Joe, no student is just a number. In our community, students are known, seen and heard from the moment they walk through the doors in 7th grade until the moment they leave in 12th grade, and even further into the future as alumni.
Academic Excellence and Personalized Support
At St. Joe, academic excellence isn’t one-size-fits-all – it’s personal. We offer:
- Honors courses
- Advance Placement courses
- Dual enrollment college classes
Our students are challenged to reach their highest potential – but they’re never asked to do it alone. We provide academic support services to help students with a range of learning needs thrive. These services include access to a certified Dyslexia Therapist and Learning Strategies teachers who offer individualized support.
We also offer the Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques (SALT) program, designed for students whose educational goals may not align with the traditional college preparatory path. SALT provides specialized instruction and support, helping students develop the tools they need for lifelong success. SALT students are integral members of our school community, actively involved in athletics, fine arts and extracurriculars.
Our commitment to academic support at every level reflects a core, Catholic belief: Every student deserves to be seen, supported, and challenged to grow.
Safety, Belonging, and Engagement
Through our introduction of increased security measures, such as our new security building at the front of campus, as well as our computerized security system throughout campus, your child will have the utmost care and priority when it comes to safety. We also work to make every student and family feel welcomed when they arrive on campus, and stay in constant communication with our school community through various formats, from the Bruin Buzz to one on one interactions between our faculty and families.
A Place for Everyone
Students are able to participate in a numerous amount of extracurriculars. At St. Joe, we offer:
- 23 varsity sports
- 8 fine arts programs
- Numerous clubs and service opportunities
We expect students to get involved and help them find the right fit. At St. Joe, everyone has a place and every role matters.
Grounded in Faith, Committed to Service
As a Catholic school, St. Joe integrates faith into every aspect of education. All students take theology each year and are required to complete gospel-centered service hours annually. Most of our students graduate with over 120 hours of service – living out Christ’s call to serve others in their communities.
Outcomes That Matter
St. Joe students consistently outperform their peers:
- Students who attend St. Joe from Grades 7-12 average a higher ACT score than the state and national averages.
- In the 2025–2026 school year, 100% of Advanced Placement subject averages exceeded state and/or global scores
Students graduate prepared not just for college, but for life.
St. Joe is a place where every student matters, where success is personal, and where our faith-filled community drives excellence.
