Joni Alumbaugh's teaching career began in 1987 with a certification in Mathematics (7-12). She received both her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Master of Math Education degrees from University of Southern Mississippi.
Currently, Mrs. Alumbaugh teaches Geometry, Geometry Honors and Algebra II Honors. Throughout her teaching career, Alumbaugh has taught 7-12 mathematics. After teaching in Lamar, Scott and Rankin counties, Alumbaugh retired from public school education and then, in 2013, she continued her teaching career at St. Joseph Catholic School.
Outside school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, John and son, Jacob and his family. She especially enjoys spending time with her grandson, Wylder. Other interests are shopping, traveling and reading. The mountains are Alumbaugh's happy place. She is also actively involved in her church, First Baptist Church of Byram, where her husband is the worship pastor.
