Bruins to open 2018 football practice
  
on campus at midnight Monday
 

MADISON (Tuesday, July 24, 2018) – St. Joseph Catholic School varsity football players will be the “First to the Field” at midnight Monday, July 30, 2018, when they take to Bill Raphael Field for the first official practice of the season.

John Bond, St. Joe head football coach and former Mississippi State University star quarterback, will lead the Bruins in their midnight practice. Bond is in his first year as a head coach after serving as an assistant at other high schools and colleges including Mississippi State, Millsaps and Belhaven.

The Bruins will play in a pre-season high school football jamboree Aug. 10 at Richland High School. They will open the 2018 season on the road the following week when they travel to Newton High School for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday, Aug. 17.

The Monday, July 30, midnight practice is open to the public. Gates to Bill Raphael Field on the St. Joseph campus will open 30 minutes prior, at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 29. Admission is free.
