The St. Joseph Catholic School Fine Arts Department plans to produce "Stage Door" for the fall 2018 theatrical production and "Mama Mia" as the spring 2019 musical.
"Stage Door" chronicles the ambitions, disappointments and dreams of aspiring actresses who all live in the same boarding house.
"Mama Mia" is a hit Broadway jukebox musical based on the songs of ABBA. The play was made into a hit motion picture in 2008.
“I think both of these selections will wonderfully showcase the talent at St. Joseph Catholic School," said Leslie Harkins, the St. Joe theater teacher. "And I’m excited for these students to have the opportunity to bring these characters to life on stage next year.”
Her excitement is shared by all who will be a part of the productions next year. Thespians in all grades are thrilled by the selections and cannot wait to get to work. The productions next year follow the successful spring run of the hit musical "Bye Bye Birdie" and last fall's "Peter and the Star Catcher."
