Saint Joseph Catholic School received $5,885 in donations from supporters as part of the second annual #iGiveCatholic effort.
More than 300 Catholic parishes, schools and nonprofits in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas were expected to participate in #iGiveCatholic this year. The event allowed people to give back to Catholic institutions on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The Catholic Foundation for the Archdiocese of New Orleans launched the #iGiveCatholic campaign in 2015. That event raised $1.36 million in a 24-hour period – transforming online giving for parishes, schools, ministries and nonprofits.
This year's event raised $1.6 million. Saint Joseph Catholic School received 70 gifts for a total of $5,885.
Saint Joseph Catholic School, in Madison about a mile west of the Interstate 55 and Mississippi 463 exit, offers seventh- through 12th-grade education with a rigorous college prep curriculum grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Saint Joseph, founded in 1870, is accredited by the Mississippi Department of Education and AdvancED.
