Annual Academic Appeal Fund
The process of seeking funds on an annual basis from the school's alumni, parents and friends to supplement academic needs of the school.

Endowment Fund
The St. Joseph Catholic School Endowment is the means of insuring the future of the school. It is a fund which receives contributions, gifts, and bequests to be used for the support and aid of St. Joseph School.

WAYS TO GIVE

Gifts of Cash
Your gift of cash in the form of a check or credit card contribution provides immediate tax savings for you and instant revenue for our school.

Memorial / Honor Gifts
St. Joseph gladly accepts honors and memorial gifts for all occassions.  Notification cards are mailed as requested.

Matching Gifts

Many companies sponsor matching gift programs to encourage employees to support schools.   Most companies match dollar for dollar, and some will double or triple match donors' gifts. If your gift is eligible, simply request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it, completed and signed, along with your gift to the Development address shown at the bottom of the page.

Stock Donations
Gifts of stock and bonds can be one of the most advantageous ways of giving. In the form of Incentive Stock Options or regular investment holdings, you may deduct the full fair market value of the stock as a charitable contribution, while bypassing all capital gains taxes (to qualify you must own your stock for more than one year). Securities may be donated by transferring them directly to St. Joseph School through Smith Barney (601-321-7800) or Morgan Keegan (601-368-2200).

Real Estate
Gifts of property are carefully considered and, if acceptable, will be receipted at fair market value after an appraisal is conducted.

Life Insurance
By naming St. Joseph Catholic School as the beneficiary or co-beneficiary of a new or existing policy, you can receive income tax and/or estate tax benefits while supporting St. Joseph.

Bequests
Remembering St. Joseph Catholic School
in your will is the ultimate demonstration of commitment to this institution and the values it represents. Wills can specify the donation of any of the above mentioned gifts and can reduce the taxable portion of your estate.

Any group, family or individual may set up and name a perpetual trust in memory of someone or for a specific purpose (eg. library improvements, fine arts program, etc.)  Simply contact the St. Joseph Development Office (601 898-4806). The director will assist in the proper wording of your trust’s purpose. There are no fees or costs to set up the trust, and 100% of all gifts and earnings go to the purposes of the trust. A minimum gift of $1,500 is required to begin a trust fund.
