The St. Joseph Swim Team is a team comprised of students from grades 7-12, which competes against other high schools throughout the state. Practices are held in the mornings before school and several days after school, and all swimmers are required to practice 4 times a week. Swim team is a popular sport at St. Joseph for numerous reason. Since it starts at the beginning of the school year, it allows students a chance to make friends and be part of a group instantly. Due to the early practices, swimmers will often go to breakfast or ride together before school, reinforcing that sense of camaraderie. Lastly, all swimmers get to participate in all meets with the exception of State Meet which requires qualifying times. In 2013 the St. Joseph Catholic School boys swim team placed first overall and the girls swim team placed second overall in the state championship meet.

The St. Joseph swim team is coached by Lauri Stamm Collins, who has over thirty years of experience teaching and coaching swimming. Any student who likes to swim and is willing to practice hard to be a part of the team is invited to join the swim team. Swimmers do not have to have prior experience to join.
