Saint Joseph Catholic School offers a robust Fine Arts Program that is housed in a state-of-the-art Fine Arts Building.
Within the Fine Arts Building, you will find the band room, the choral music rooms, a pottery studio, visual arts classrooms, a theatrical workshop, two dressing rooms, and a grand auditorium built to seat 508 people. The Fine Arts Department boasts a group of talented, experienced and dedicated educators who provide guidance and training to almost every student of the school.
Each school year, the Fine Arts Department present two outstanding theatrical productions, a drama or comedy every fall and a major musical in the spring. The Bruin band performs two concerts each year, the popular "Gifts of the Season" Christmas concert and the year-end spring concert. The art program showcases senior art projects every spring in the Senior Art Show.
The school is blessed with a volunteer organization known as the Fine Arts Support Team, more commonly known as FAST, through which parents and other volunteers offer their time and talent to the Fine Arts departments. Over the years, FASTmembers have contributed to the design and construction of the production sets, gathered props, designed production programs, decorated the auditorium, sold production tickets, and baked and sold concessions. The opportunities are endless.
Financially, FAST also has provided hanging art systems, lights, microphones, band instruments, a pottery grinder, and most recently, the piano and ancillary equipment for the school’s new piano lab -- just to name a few. For more information about FAST, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the school office at (601) 898-4800.
