St. Joseph Catholic School's Fine Arts Program

Welcome to the St. Joseph Catholic School Fine Arts Program.

The program is headquartered in the school's Fine Arts Building where you will find the band room, the choral music rooms, a fully equipped pottery studio, visual arts classrooms, a theatrical design workshop, two dressing rooms and a state-of-the-art auditorium that seats 502 people.

The Fine Arts Department boasts a group of talented, experienced and dedicated educators who provide guidance and training to all students.

Each school year, the Fine Arts Department presents two outstanding theatrical productions: a drama or comedy every fall and a major musical in the spring. The Bruin band performs two major concerts each year: the widely popular "Gifts of the Season" Christmas concert and the year-end spring concert. In addition to these concerts you can hear the band on Friday nights during football season, during Mass and in the orchestra pit as they perform during the spring musical. The choral program features the  voices of amazing young singers who participate at various functions throughout the school year. The art program showcases student art projects throughout the school and features a Senior Art Show at the end of the year.

The school is blessed with a volunteer organization known as the Fine Arts Support Team, more commonly called FAST, through which parents and other volunteers offer their time and talent to enrich the program. Over the years, FAST members have contributed to the design and construction of the production sets, gathered props, designed production programs, decorated the auditorium, sold event tickets and baked and sold concessions.  FAST has provided lights, microphones, band instruments, pottery implements, digital pianos and ancillary equipment for the school’s new piano lab -- just to name a few. For more information about FAST, please email [email protected] or call the school office at (601) 898-4800.
